How It Works
How Mischief Changed the World is a fun and accessible curriculum resource kit designed to bring more kindness and inclusivity to your school. It takes 90 Minutes to complete which includes a student-led experience and a facilitator led discussion.
Your group will explore concepts of identity, adversity, resilience, and connection. But how do you make this experience happen?! And what can you expect?
Here's a step-by-step how-to guide. If you still have any questions please reach to us we are always here to help!
Step 1: Your Kit Arrives! YAAY!
We send you a kit in the mail
that is filled with: instructions, a discussion guide, and an interactive story.
Step 2: WELCOME!
Read the "Welcome to Facilitators" guide.
This will give you an overview of the goals, topics covered, and step-by-step instructions.
Step 3: Check out the story.
You'll see 12 envelopes in your kit. Every envelope will have a symbol on the outside and a page of the story on the inside.
You can read some of the story before facilitating or wait for the big reveal and have fun watching it unfold along with your group! We send you unsealed envelopes so you can choose. If you do read ahead please make sure each page goes back into the envelope it came in. Sealing the envelopes before passing them out to the group is also a great way to build up excitement.
Step 4: The Big Day!
Relax. You don't need to have any training or prep or any previous experience with inclusive curriculum to facilitate this experience. This story comes alive with the help of every person in the room.
The Only Supplies You'll Need:
a few sheets of paper & a writing utensil for each person
One roll of tape
Access to a stopwatch/timer
*Recommended but not necessary:
Markers, colored pencils, or crayons
How the day starts:
You'll break everyone into groups.
You'll read the Instruction sheet provided.
You'll pass out EVERY envelope among the groups.
The group with the pencil will come to the front of the room, start reading...
And that's how the whole adventure begins :-)
Step 6: After The Story
Check out the discussion guide included in your kit. It's a super easy way to keep the conversation going so you can dive deeper into the topics of the story like questioning assumptions and bias, identity, gender, adversity, transformation and resilience.
We have included a mini discussion you can use the day of the experience as a helpful wrap up as well as a longer version you can use at your next group meeting to expand on the topics your group needs most.
Either way, we've got you covered.
Step 6: Let's Celebrate
We are so grateful for the work that you do to make the world kinder & more inclusive and we love hearing about your experiences with our kit.
Please send us your pictures, ideas, feedback, or any suggestions to firstname.lastname@example.org
We love making new friends:)
